The fairly recent rains and snow, coupled with this week’s sun, have coaxed quite a bit of green from the brown soil. We of course spent a lot of time in the fields, bent over to harvest things like sorrel and arugula. But the weeds fairly shouted their arrival this week as well, and we tugged bushels of ’em.
We will offer a weed-free bounty at the farmers’ market in downtown Boulder on Saturday.
Before all of this vegetable life gets to the market and the restaurants, we clean it. This is a time-consuming process. In the photo above, farm manager Noah is cleaning frisée in one of our giant, hand-built washing machines.
This week’s spectacle of splendor (with new additions this week in bold) includes:
- Rapini
- Lettuce mix
- Spinach
- Frisée
- Escarole
- Mache
- Arugula
- Sorrel
- Pan di Zucherro
- Perpetual spinach
- Swiss chard
- Field greens mix (arugula, lettuce, tat soi)
- Parsley
- Spring onions
- Leeks
- Golden beets
- Rapini
- Arugula flowers
- Polenta
- Whole wheat flour
- Cracked wheat
- Farro

Before we bid you adieu with this week’s market report, we feel compelled to offer a photo of spring onions growing strong in the sun.
