New to the market
This week, an Italian heirloom cucumber, the Mandurian variety, will make its 2013 debut at the Black Cat farm booth. The Mandurian cucumber resembles melons more closely than cucumbers though it has a strong cucumber aroma. It has a rounded melon shape and is sweet, crunchy, and never bitter. Because this cucumber is not bitter, scooping out the seeds is unnecessary for any dish that you make with it.
Along with the Mandurian cucumber, we will also continue to offer the crisp Shintokiwa cucumber, which is a Japanese cucumber variety.
